Prepositions are often a difficult concept to grasp without visuals or objects. This 9-page unit allows children to see and use a variety of pictures depicting one of ten different prepositions. It includes:
- 10 labeled picture cards for teaching preposition concepts (behind, beside, between, on, in, above, under, next to, in front of, below)
- 10 picture cards for assessing mastery of preposition concepts (behind, beside, between, on, in, above, under, next to, in front of, below)
- 10 preposition word cards
- 2 fill-in-the-blank sentence strips

Grab your copy of A Boy and a Box: Practice with Prepositions here.  You can also keep up with Straight Up Speech on my facebook page.

Be sure to look for a little green frog and his very special message in the download! If you previously downloaded, please download again to find the next clue! Just look for the little green frog!

The rules of the contest are simple: You must decode a secret message. In order to complete this task, you will need to visit each of the 12 blogs and download a freebie. The freebie will contain a word that is part of the code. When you enter through Giveaway Tools on Figuratively Speeching SLP's blog, you will be asked to type in the secret code. Have fun and enjoy blog hopping with us! The contest will run from March 17th to March 23rd.

Freebie Anyone??

So the sweet s-blends activity is still under construction!  Life for me has been so crazy lately! Guess that par for the course when you are a speech-language pathologist by day and a wife and mom/show choir mom by night (and weekends)!  In the meantime, here is a freebie for you!  A Boy and a Box:  Practice with Prepositions targets those lovely spatial concepts/prepositions that we all love so much!

I just couldn't resist these super cute graphics by Lita Lita!  This activity targets the following concepts:  behind, beside, between, on, in, above, under, next to, in front of, and below and is designed for both receptive and expressive language practice.

Under Construction

Happy Sunday morning!  I am in the process of developing this speech-language pathology themed blog to share my thoughts and ideas with speech-language pathologists, parents, and other professionals dedicated to developing and improving the communication skills of children!  I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to my friend Rachel, author of letstalkspeechtherapy.blogspot.com, for her guidance and valuable tips in helping me get started in the world of blogging!  As the title above states, this page is still under construction; but it is my hope to "go live" very soon!  Stay tuned and thank you for stopping by!
